Today will be my third day of running in a row.
For some of you, that may not seem like that big of a deal, but for me it is a challenge. I ran a 5K on Tuesday, 3.5 miles yesterday, and have a 4 mile run planned with my husband this evening. It will not be a speedy run by any means. I am fully anticipating dead legs. But it WILL get done. And it will get done for one reason only: the promise of a nice glass or two of red wine.
See, my husband is sneaky (aka a genious). He knew that the only way to ensure that the 4 miles occurs was to offer up an incentive: If you run 4 miles with me, I will take you to Gilly’s. Well alright then! Bring on date night Thursday!
What is Gilly’s you ask? Only the best local craft beer and wine store in the Bethesda/Rockville, MD area! I’m a wine girl and my husband is a definite beer guy, and Gilly’s is the place that we both love. It may not look like much on the outside, but it is fantastic. It is small, family owned, and quirky. The beer and wine selection is amazing (with free tastings every day), and they even offer cheese plates and sandwiches. There is no better place to get a drink, chat with strangers, and pass a couple hours. There is even a small, but dedicated group of regulars. I admit it, we are edging into that category, and I like it A little small town vibe in a big city.
Are you a “regular” at any place?
What gets you to run when you otherwise wouldn’t?
